The Westgate BusinessWorks was established in 2015 with the central goal of helping accelerate small business development in our community. As private investors, we were inspired by what others had done elsewhere in Columbus more than a generation ago to stimulate economic growth in their neighborhoods. They invested in underutilized buildings and offered the commercial space to small business pioneers who were willing to take a chance and locate their business in the community. In exchange, the investors offered below market lease rates and sponsored targeted community events to attract consumers to the neighborhood. Westgate BusinessWorks is doing the same!
Raised in entrepreneurial households, we know that two of the greatest barriers to business growth are finding customers and overcoming the high cost of commercial space. The BusinessWorks was founded to help solve these problems and increase the chance for business success in our neighborhood.

Gypsy Soul Antiques & Vintage Decor
11 North Westmoor Avenue
Gypsy Soul is a locally-owned shop offering quality vintage and antique items, handmade goods, beautiful home decor, and gifts.
Owner Heather Neumann left her full time job to pursue a long time dream of starting her own business. Working out of her home, Heather built her customer base by selling her items in an antique mall and through her website. After a successful stint at the Westgate Farmers Market, she decided to open a storefront at the Westgate Businessworks in September of 2016.
Clay Street Ceramics
13 North Westmoor Avenue
Owner Terri Nino has operated a successful in-home and traveling paint-your-own pottery studio for a decade but decided that a commercial storefront would allow her to expand her offering of workshops and events; she also wanted to extend her annual Christmas sale into a year-round marketplace. After participating in The Westgate Marketplace pop-up store last year, Terri realized that the location would be perfect for her business. With help from friends and family, she’s transformed the space: one side features a light-filled pottery studio for adults and a separate room for children’s events and parties; the other side is a retail marketplace for handmade items by Terri and other local artists.
Claystreet Ceramics opened April 1, 2017. Check out Terri’s Facebook page for more information on upcoming workshops, events, and retail vendors.
